The original ArmaLite AR-7 (designed by Eugene Stoner of AR-10/AR-15 fame) was introduced in 1959, and discontinued in 1973, when Charter Arms bought the rights to the design. Since I have never seen an original ArmaLite AR-7 with a serial number below 50,000, I SPECULATE that serial numbers began at 50,000.
